On this day in live music history (1-22-06): As much as I missed the guitar interplay between Kimock and Mitch Stein, this lineup which featured the monster playing of Rodney Holmes on drums, and two jamband veterans— Reed Mathis (bass) and Robert Walter (keys)— was definitely one of my favorite lineups that SKB ever featured.  This “Boo Boo” is as tight and funky as it has ever been.

Side Note: It has also been brought to my attention that this was, at least as of today, six years later, the final performance by Steve Kimock Band.  Steve has played with Crazy Engine, Zero, and various side projects since then, of course, but has not performed under the SKB moniker since this show.
